I'm very pleased to say I've just finished my Associate's degree, and I'm planning to go on for my bachelor's asap (probably not until summer, though.) Yeay, education!

Ok, I'm single (uh, I guess that's sort of a 'well, duh' statement, but nonetheless...) with no children. I very much want children, but I am going to be very honest and point out I don't want someone else's children. In other words, if you have kids, i wish you the best, but I'd really not be interested.

All right, I guess this is where I get to be a little brutally honest (or maybe this is just me being a tad self-indulgent.) I have a pretty clear idea of what I want from my life, and I'm really frustrated that I'm years behind on my so-called schedule. However! The fact that I feel like I'm getting back on track is good. If you have the patience to hang on through these trials, I like to think I'm worth hanging onto. I really want someone who has some semblance of a plan, too. I guess. I mean, who really knows what they want and actually expects to get exactly that? It seems unrealistic to me, no matter how particular I come across. The last time I thought I had something I wanted, well, it turns out he had other plans in the long-term. So, I'm just putting it out there: I'm not here for BS. If you're really ready to step through the door into the next part of your life, I'm down with that. I'm not the doormat in between, though.

I love languages and seem to have a pretty strong affinity for learning them. My ultimate intention is to study psychology and possibly teaching languages. I speak French reasonably well, mais pas du tout parfaitment, and I've learned a smattering of Scottish Gaelic (gu dearbh!) I miss studying them both.

I love to travel, but I don't get to escape nearly often enough for my taste. I like road trips, flying, and whatever other means works to get me away for a bit. Anything for a change of scenery!

I guess I'm pretty introspective. I can't do anything without analyzing it do death first. Whether that's a good or a bad thing I'll leave you to decide. The older I get, the more I realize and am forced to admit I'm pretty old-fashioned where relationships are concerned. I have absolutely no desire to be Donna Reed, or anything, but the whole white picket fence ideal does have a mysterious appeal.

Also, just fyi, I have a habit usually of not using capitals. Thus the inconsistency in this profile; I tend to forget them even when I'm intending to look reasonably intelligent. It's one way I (inadvertently) keep myself on my toes.

Hey, how's it going? My name is Cliff, and I was born and have lived in Rockford my whole life. I am very easy going, and down to earth. Im a very blue jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. I dont take things too serious, and laugh off the bad things. It is hard to write about ones self. I think its kinda odd that they say on here that a person should up load pics of tats or pets or anything other then their face. I think that is kinda weird. I mean isnt your pet or tat a part of you? It is something that makes you you. I mean even if you posted a picture of a sunset or a work of art that you like. That says something about you. Then if someone sees the same work of art or something else that they like, they would know they have something in common.

I was just looking at my profile, and it says Im aggressive, cocky, ill mannered, a pesamist, and it didnt even say anything about the fact I cant spell for nothing, haha. I didnt know a person that was self hateing and had low self esstem could be cocky, haha. Maybe I am cocky, to make up for the fact, that I have low self esstem, haha. Aggressive... Im not sure about that one, not like I steal candy from babies, or mug mofos. Ill mannered? I didnt know cussing so much a sailor would blush, spitting, and picking your nose (only when people arent around) would make one ill mannered, haha. As for less optimistic, I think of myself more as a realist. I mean you watch the news, you see all the evil stuff that happens every where all the time. They dont show the people doing good stuff to help people, because that doesnt make for rateings.

It also says Im kinky and desireing of sex... well... duh... I could of told you that, haha. So I like things a little more then vanilla, and I like it more then once a year, haha. I mean Im not a sex addit or a slut, man I wish I was a slut, haha. Yet I believe in monogamy, even if it is with a friends with benifit situation or what not. After living in Denver for five years as a freelance audio mixer, shooter, and editor for national cable programs and networks I moved back to Illinois to be close to my father during his illness.

I'm not the typical alpha male, and am most certainly a bit askew from the typical man's man. I not a huge fan of sports, though I've been at the World Series, on the field for NFL games, and in locker rooms for the NBA. My work in the media has afforded me some interesting experiences, and for the last four years I've not had a "real" job. Frankly, I think I would go a bit mad having a 9 to 5 job at this point in my life, but then again I'd do that if it meant having to pay the bills.

Even though I've work in television, I don't watch much of it, and I'm not one to revel in pop culture or reality television. I'm a coffee snob as well, and you'll not get me to drink a Starbucks. I'd rather support local roasters, and baristas that actually care about making a good coffee and espresso.

A 46 year old plump smoker who is trying to change both and looking for a job so I can have a life back, but all in all, I'm a nice person with humor and without mental disabilities, I don't turn colors, spiin my head and puke green stuff. For the last couple years I've been extremely busy with work, so meeting new people is challenging to say the least.. Now that I have time to myself, the search is on! Not into the bar scene, especially in the Rockford area, I'll go on occassion, but that's about it. I know that our options are limited for activities in Rockford, creativity is key! There are several places to catch live theater, or comedy night, different museums.. I actually like living around here though, we are central to Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee and the Mississippi River, so within an hour, there is always something to do. Catch a Cubs, or Brewers Game, Riverboats on the Miss, Michigan Ave for some shopping anyone ?

I'm really in to music, pretty much any genre, as long as it's good music.. I sing all the time, and if I do say so myself, im pretty damn good. I'm the guy you see at target, walking around signing away, without a care in the world.
